 God Bless You!

is what Rod's life is all about.   Evangelist Rod Raines is a former Youth Pastor & Counselor from the Assemblies of God platform.  He retained this position for 7 years.  For an additional 5 years he was Praise & Worship Leader.  He is now in the ministry on a full-time basis for the Lord.

With 89 albums to his production credit, Rod has been involved in many Christian Television & Radio programs, in both singing and working behind the scenes as Executive Producer & Engineer.  He has also appeared as spokesman in 112 Texas Ford Motor Company Truck Television Commercials.

Rod is an accomplished Musician and Vocalist.  He can read music, but prefers to simply "play by ear".  He has produced and engineered over 8,000 National Radio & Television projects.  God has blessed him with the ability to play the Bass, Rhythm and Lead Guitars, the Piano, Organ and Drums.  He has even recorded several songs playing the Banjo and Harmonica!

Rod has performed with many well-known artists in his professional career including Howard & Vestal Goodman, Freddy Fender, Vickie Winans, Nicky Cruz & Kris Kristofferson.   He has written numerous business jingles and also worked in conjunction with several Miss Texas Pageants.  To date, Rod has recorded and played music on over 5,000 songs.

In 1997, Rod was privileged to compose and produce the theme song to the movie "A Tribute To John Wayne" which premiered in Las Vegas, Nevada.  Rod also produced, wrote and recorded  the entire soundtrack to the movie which featured a song written by film actor Robert Mitchum's brother John, entitled "America, Why I Love Her."  The song "They Reached For The Stars" was written in honor of the deceased crewmembers of the infamous Space Shuttle Challenger.  Houston based NASA forwarded each family member of the Challenger's crew an autographed copy of the album in tribute of their brave and priceless sacrifice.

Rod has completed his 9th album entitled "BEST OF". It is a compilation of favorites from his first 8 albums.  He is also producing several other artist's for both national and international radio releases.

Early Years

Evangelist Rod Raines is a born-again, spirit-filled believer in Christ,  who was raised in the Assemblies of God.  At the early age of 5 years old, he gave his heart to Christ so that his life would be used for God's glory and honor.  Rod believes and preaches that the Holy Bible is the true and inspired Word of God, and that ALL things are possible through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Rod has strong Cherokee Indian lineage on both sides of his family.  He has never done any type of drugs, nor has he ever smoked or drank.

Family

Rod is blessed to have been raised in a Christian home his entire life.  His father was a deacon and worship leader in the church for many years.  After retiring with 35 years from EXXON, he is still involved in private consultant work for major oil companies and also raises cattle on the ranch.  For 37 years, his mother has taught an open forum Sunday School class each Sunday morning at a local Nursing Home.  For 12 of those years, Rod played the keyboard for his mom at those Nursing Home services.  He then walked to church several blocks where he played the organ, his sister played the piano and his father led the song service.
