In 1987, Rod was diagnosed with a tumor that was located in the front area of the brain controlling memory.  He was given only 6 months to live if he declined the operation.  His greatest fear was the chance of evolving into a vegetative state of mind after the surgery.  Doctors had already forewarned him of this imminent possibility.  Rod's parents asked everyone to call their son's name out in prayer.  They knew that a miracle from God was their only hope.

Rod also knew that time was running out.  Once in St. Louis, a specialist was summoned to review the x-rays.  The doctor requested another set of  x-rays and tests be administered.  Upon reading the new set of x-rays, the doctor entered Rod's hospital room in awe.  He said, "I do not understand it, nor can I explain it, but the growth inside of your brain has moved !  It is now in an area outside the brain where it is safe to operate.  God has blessed you!  Everything is going to be alright."

Praise The Lord !  God had heard Rod's prayers for a miracle and he received it.  The surgery still had to be performed, but his memory is just fine.  Rod went on to teach Math in college, work at an engineering company and record 35 Christian albums for Jesus.  Many people called Rod the "Miracle Man," but he quickly corrected them and said, "Jesus IS the Miracle Man.  I'm simply the man who received my miracle."  When modern medicine cannot cure our ailments, know that Christ who died on the cross for our sins AND our healing, is just a prayer away.   Miracles still happen today, just as they did 2000 years ago.  Jesus and His Living Word are the same yesterday, today and forever !
